the fresh perspective…

popnfreshoak-kt-June 09, 2013-009I find inspiration in many things, but when it comes to my job, I find I’m inspired by fashion and style.  I love looking at images and magazines and videos.  I love people watching.  I love interacting with people.

Wordless Wednesdays (ahh…not so much)

I’m wearing:  Sweater/jacket/cardigan by Left on Houston, Oxmo tank, the jeans are Fidelity Scoops, and scarf by French Connection.

And my hair is by Praise at Freshair Boutique.  Do you ever get tangles in your hair from wearing scarves?  I do… I get a gross tangle-blob at the back of my head.  Praise turned my hair into a pretend short haircut to keep the long bits out-of-the-way.  Genius, right?  Tutorial to come…. :)

Back to the clothes: I love each of these things.  The sweater is perfect for this weather, it’s heavy enough that you can wear it on it’s own as a fall jacket, but will carry you through winter as a cozy sweater.

Fidelity’s scoops are my personal favourite jeans.  All of their jeans are fantastic, but there’s something about the Scoops that I just can’t resist. They’re comfortable, and their washes are always well done and flattering.  They’re perfectly tapered for boots, but they look really great with flats and heels. They’re my go-to jeans for all occasions.

Oxmo’s layering pieces are the softest, most comfortable things you’ll ever put on.  People just rave about them.  When I recently bought a long-sleeved version, I didn’t take it off for 3 days…. (I was going to edit that to make it seem less gross, but… it’s true.)

And this French Connection tube scarf.  It’s cozy, pretty and fun.  Scarves are one of the best things about fall weather.  And I love how easy tube scarves are.  No ends to dangle in your soup.

Happy Wednesday!!

Introducing fresh pop – part 1

Freshair Boutique and Poppie Clothing are excited to announce a new and wonderful collaboration they like to call fresh pop.

Freshair Boutique is a full service beauty salon on Academy Road with an eco-friendly edge. Our main goal is to put the best you together, while doing the least damage possible to the earth and ourselves.

Poppie Clothing is a women’s clothing boutique on Corydon that provides women with clothing and accessories that are current and unique while being flattering and easy to wear. We offer items ranging from fancy party dresses to comfy, high-quality denim. We love helping women feel beautiful.

By coming together to form fresh pop, we hope to offer a way for women to put a cohesive look together for the season – from head to toe. We will keep our customers informed about trends in both hair and clothing, and show you ways you can achieve certain looks and make them your own.

To kick off this collaboration, members of fresh pop dressed up in clothing from Poppie and the talented ladies of Freshair Boutique took care of our hair and makeup and we took to the streets… or tracks …to show you what we’re made of. It turns out, we’re not models. But I think you can see that we had a whole lot of fun.

Without further ado, here we are:

Stay tuned for more fresh pop posts this week – we will be introducing some of our individual members, posting more photos from our photo shoot and showing some of our favorite looks in both hair and fashion!
