I think that I thought that the worst was over and I was wrong. The cold has taken me to new lows and now I’m counting down the days till I can wear no socks. Yesterday was SOOOO awful, and as I loaded up my car with groceries and ran the cart back to it’s shed, I instantly felt better when I realized that as cold as it was, I wasn’t that cold!
I broke down last year and bought a proper parka. I make sure that I ALWAYS keep the mittens in the parka’s pocket and I purchased a jacket that came with a hood. This was just in case I ever forgot my toque. I also splurged on some leather Sorels. The jig is up, I live in Winnipeg and even though spring is supposed to be springing, we all know we have about 3 more weeks of iciness before she arrives.
So, it’s been a while and here we are again. Movember was, and is, always going to get men to give having facial hair a try. The look of a hairy face is quite a trend and now that we’re in ‘Decembeard’ you might notice more people sporting beards. These days a good beard can go along way. Mustaches are a little harder to pull off 11 months out of the year but a beard is quite simple.
Long and full
You don’t need to shave, just keep the hair you have in a specific area and keep the hair moisturized, combed and tidy. Beards are great especially if you can get full coverage. Here are some ideas. For you guys who work in a corporate environment as long as you keep it tidy, it’s all good!
Low and tight (also, what a great bag huh?)
Great beard, great hair…
P.S. We carry the men’s line Prospector Co. This week all the products are on sale for 15% off. What better time to try some beard oil!
Today I will be in a men’s cutting class all day. The experts will be trying to teach all of the stylists in attendance the new styles for men and the newest techniques.
I must say that I had a much larger male clientele when I used to work downtown. Now that I’m located on Academy, I feel like I have little to no male clients. The one’s I do have are great, but I always wonder about all the others I lost…
Are men more likely to go to a stylist out of pure convenience? Is it frowned upon for a man to follow his stylist? ~I guess a man can follow his stylist because I do have a few of my male clients from the first location I worked~ I know that a lot of my male clients in the past worked downtown, and came to see me on their lunches and break times. Very convenient indeed…
I’m hoping this class leads me to a more knowledgeable place when it comes to cutting and styling men’s hair. Maybe the skills I’ll acquire will also boost up my male clientele? Just so you know boys, it’s okay to go to a hair salon over a barber and these days many salons are beginning to offer the same type of services as a barber. Straight shaves and barbering techniques are coming to salons near you…if you’re into that.
September is here and moving fast. Have you changed out your wardrobe? If you live in Winnipeg you are probably thinking about pulling out your heavier jackets and boots preparing for the impending and looming weather change.
l like this season the most as do many people… Fashion is best now, stews and homemade breads are best now, the air is crisp and fresh now, the leaves fall like colored confetti now.
September is my all-time favorite time of the year. Boys, here are some photos of ways to wear your scarves this fall. A little inspiration for your Monday.
Scarves, like I’ve been saying, are one of the best accessories…even for the boys…
